The Glam Open ("we", "us") is a women's golf event business based in Ontario, Canada, operated by founder Stacy Walton. We respect your privacy, and this policy explains in plain language what personal information we collect through theglamopen.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- Waitlist signups: when you join our waitlist, we collect your email address.
- Email you send us: if you contact us at our email addresses, we receive whatever information you choose to include.
- Technical basics: our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve the website securely. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or sell any data. This site does not set marketing cookies.
How we use your information
- To send you updates about The Glam Open: event news, venue and date announcements, and ticket access. By joining the waitlist you give us express consent to email you about the event, consistent with CASL.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To run the event: if you later purchase a ticket, we will collect what's needed to deliver the experience, and will update this policy accordingly before that happens.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
Who we share it with (service providers)
We use a small number of reputable service providers to operate the website and send email:
- Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions.
- MailerLite stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Zoho Mail operates our email inboxes (Canadian cloud region).
These providers may store data on servers located outside of Canada (for example, in the United States or the European Union). Where that happens, your information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We only work with providers that maintain strong security and privacy practices, and we share only what is needed for them to provide their service.
Unsubscribing and your choices
- Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests take effect promptly (within 10 business days at most, as CASL requires; in practice, immediately).
- You can also email us anytime at hello@theglamopen.com to unsubscribe or to ask us to delete your information.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information while The Glam Open is active and you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our active systems, subject only to anything we're legally required to retain.
Security
Your information is stored with the providers listed above, each of which uses industry-standard security (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we limit what we collect in the first place, which is the best protection there is.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@theglamopen.com and we'll respond promptly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Children
Our website and event are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. If a change meaningfully affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you about it first.
